UK act Kelly's Heels sprung out of the wreckage of post-punk guitar-pop outfit The Ashes with 1998's Gone Off Pop?!? album. Initially conceived as a recording band only, the roar of the greasepaint proved too tempting and a few live shows surrounding 1999's Blunt Cut album prompted an invitation to the first New York International Pop Overthrow, followed by increasingly wild appearances in Chicago, Hollywood and at Liverpool's legendary Cavern Club.
With song-writing pitched at some convergence of Beatles, Kinks and Lovin' Spoonful, Kelly's Heels obviously realise the '60s are over but want to compete against the very best.
"The melody of the '60s injected with the mayhem of the '70s" - Gary Pig Gold
"high-energy, killer pop toons. Remember: it's not retro, it's timeless. Know the difference and get to know Kelly's Heels" John M. Borack, Goldmine Magazine
